Join us for a day of mindfulness and meditation at Amethyst Retreat Center to commemorate the life and teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

Thich Nhat Hanh was one of the greatest teachers of mindfulness for the western mind. He was a monk, a peace activist, an author of many books and the founder of the dharma center and ordained community, Plum Village in France.

OUR TIME TOGETHER will open with a recorded video “The End of Suffering” and a recorded dharma talk by Thich Nhat Hanh, “Presence is the First Act of Love”. We will move gently from there through guided meditation, silent meditation, walking meditation in nature and mindful eating. There will be a brief period of optional open sharing and Q&A to complete the retreat day.

The beauty of this retreat process is that it builds a foundation of practice. With practice, we develop inner peace, clarity and presence, a pure state of awareness. This state of awareness makes it possible to feel resilient and balanced in life.

LUNCH will be prepared with local, fresh, and organic foods when possible. Lunch options will include Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten Free dishes. Special dietary needs can be accommodated.
